  • 2-4 years of development experience in a company setting
  • Hands on experience with Java and OO development including J2E, Servlet, Tomcat
  • Hands on experience with cloud based architectures (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Hands on experience with developing for Web APIs (rest, json, oauth)
  • Hands on experience with developing against MySQL, PostgreSQL and/or NoSQL
  • Good familiarity with developing in a continuous integration (CI) environment and build tools such as Gradle/Maven/Jenkins
  • Possess a working knowledge of proper development practices (testing, documentation, agile like processes)
  • Additional experience with JavaScript, JQuery, React, HTML5, CCS a plus

Marine business intelligence (BI) company with offices in the Hudson Valley is looking to fill an immediate need with the addition of a new Marine Meteorologist Technician to our growing staff.  In this role, the Marine Meteorologist Technician will be responsible for entering ship to shore data, verifying and correcting the data, communicating with crew aboard the ships and more. This position requires shift work as well as weekends and holidays for an operations department that is staffed 365 days a year and 24 hour a day. Training is provided, no prior marine experience is necessary. Comfortable and friendly office environment, great support team, and free lunches!!



  • Bachelor of Science in Meteorology with no professional work experience necessary

  • Review, evaluate, quality control and enter vessel data provided by ship captains from all around the world
  • Communicate with vessel captains regarding their vessel data 
  • Work with propriety software to track vessel data along oceanic voyages 
  • Providing superior customer service to clients worldwide
  • Heavy use of software applications and the Internet, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to work under time constraints and stay focused and sharp while performing repetitive task work
  • Be easily managed and excel in a team environment


In-house training and development will provide strong candidates with the opportunity to advance to higher level positions that include learning some or all of the following: data analytics, performance, global weather patterns, and advanced knowledge of the maritime shipping industry.
